  • What is SlabGasket made of?
SlabGasket is an extruded, flexible vinyl (PVC). It is similar to the material used in window gaskets found in high rise buildings vinyl shutters, doors, etc.
  • Can you walk on SlabGasket?
Absolutely. An empty or missing expansion joint is not only ugly, it is a trip or fall hazard as well. SlabGasket can withstand over 200 pounds per square inch. Breaking a heel, or worse, will no longer be an issue. Any wheeled toy or appliance won’t get stuck
  • What colors does SlabGasket come in?
SlabGasket is available in two colors: Grey & Almond. The initial color of SlabGasket (grey) was found to be the most complementary color to that of concrete. You can email us at LotusHomeSolutionsTX@Gmail.com if you're interested in receiving color & size samples.
  • Does SlabGasket come in different sizes?
    SlabGasket comes in fifteen sizes: 1/2″, 1/2″ shorty, 3/4″, 3/4″ shorty, 5/8″, 7/8″, 7/8″ shorty, 1″, 1-1/8″, 1-1/4″, 1-3/8″, 1-5/8″, 1-5/8″ shorty, 1-7/8″ and 2″
  • Does SlabGasket keep weeds from growing?
Tight fitting SlabGasket does significantly impede weed growth. The really great benefit is that, if necessary, you can install SlabGasket and later on, pull it back up, clean out what might be necessary, and put it back in.
  • How do you install SlabGasket?
It's as easy as 1,2,3! We (1) remove the existing wooden expansion joints with a crow-bar, then we (2) back-fill deep crevices with a mixture of sand and gravel for leveling, and (3) tap in place with a rubber mallet. It's that simple!
  • Does SlabGasket installation require any special preparation?
SlabGasket is best installed when there is 2” of clearance which provides adequate depth for proper below grade installation.
